WHO WE ARE

GICA is a company, established as a financial tool in order to originate and trade "carbon assets" that will be delivered in the period 2008-2012.

GICA is a fully financed pool of capital made available by Italian companies active in different sectors: energy, steel, utilities and banking.

Green Initiative Carbon Assets S.A. is established in Lugano - Switzerland, by four major italian industrial and banking investors, with the aim to originate and trade Carbon Assets, based on the flexible mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol.

Following two years of careful studies and market analysis, GICA shareholders have decided to put together an initial capital commitment of 60M EUR for the procurement of a primary CER portfolio, to be delivered in the period 2008-2012.

GICA is a top rated buyer, with a quick and effective decision making process, willing to cooperate with project owners in order to deploy full Carbon Credit potential of their project.

GICA is looking for projects capable to start delivery in 2010 at latest.

Minimum size of the contract is 200.000 t CO2 (up to 2012)
All approved methodologies are eligible, except AR projects (not eligible for EU ETS)

GICA is also willing to include in the portfolio a few innovative projects, with an addition of high environmental and technological value.
